Tánaiste looks ahead to visit of Chinese Vice President
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore today spoke to MerrionStreet.ie in advance of the visit of Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping to Ireland. Ireland is the only EU country the Vice President will visit on this trip.
The Tánaiste said:
We will have official Government to Government talks with the Vice President led by the Taoiseach. The Vice President will attend the Ireland-China trade forum - 300 Irish companies will be present looking at the opportunities for trade and investment with China. We see this visit as hugely significant...because it will provide an opportunity for the Irish Government to discuss with the Chinese Government the huge opportunities that there are for trade between our two countries.
