Taoiseach and Justice Minister officiate at citizenship ceremony

Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Justice Minister Alan Shatter today officiated at a citizenship ceremony in Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines, Dublin. These ceremonies were introduced by Minister Alan Shatter in June last year, to give proper recognition to the importance of the granting of Irish citizenship. Since June 2011, 28 such ceremonies have been held. Between today and tomorrow, 2,250 people from 110 countries, across five continents, will be granted Irish citizenship.
