Taoiseach to attend World Economic Forum in Davos

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will arrive in Davos later today to attend the World Economic Forum where he will participate in a series of discussions on the structural, economic and political issues facing political leaders across the globe.

The Taoiseach will also undertake a series of bilateral meetings with business and political leaders with a view to outlining Ireland’s progress towards economic recovery and highlighting the benefits of Ireland as a destination for international investment.

Amongst the events the Taoiseach will be participating in on Thursday, is an interactive plenary session entitled "Rebuilding Europe". The Taoiseach’s fellow panellists for the event are: President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, Prime Minister Jyrki Tapani Katainen of Finland, President Bronislaw Komorowski of Poland and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

Mr. Lionel Barber, Editor of the Financial Times will act as moderator.

On Friday Taoiseach Enda Kenny will participate in a session entitled an "Informal Gathering of World Leaders - Defining the Imperatives for 2012." This discussion will centre on a number of themes, including: job creation and social stability, inclusive governance in the digital age and the remodeling of Europe.
