Taoiseach to travel to Brussels for European Council summit

Taoiseach Mr. Enda Kenny will travel to the meeting of the European Council in Brussels on 24-25 October.

The focus of the meeting will be on the digital economy, innovation and services. EU Heads of State and Government will also discuss economic and social policy issues (youth unemployment, financing of the economy, regulatory fitness) and Economic and Monetary Union (including Banking Union). Leaders will also be updated on the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius on 28-29 November, and will discuss the recent tragic loss of hundreds of lives in the Mediterranean.
