€332,000 approved by the Minister of State McHugh for Galway County Council to appoint Consultant Engineers for development of Inis Oírr Pier
Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Joe McHugh T.D. has announced that he has approved funding of some €332,000 for Galway County Council to appoint Punch Consulting Engineers as consultant engineers for the Inis Oírr Pier. Among the tasks to be carried out by the consultants will be the completion of the design specification and the preparation of construction tender documents.
“I’m very happy to be in the position to make this announcement today” the Minister said. “The maintenance of sustainable island communities off our cost is a core element of my Department’s work and safe access by sea is crucial for island communities. Today represents a big step forward for this important project, which is included in Project Ireland 2040, and demonstrates my Department’s commitment to progressing this project”
