The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed T.D., today announced the publication of his Department's second Scheme for the provision of services through Irish as required under Section 15 of the Official Languages Act 2003.
Minister Creed said: “I welcome the publication of my Department’s second Irish Language Scheme which strives to enhance the delivery of quality customer service through Irish”.
The objective of the Scheme is to enhance the provision of services to our Irish-speaking customers. The measures set out in the Scheme are in addition to those services already in place in the Department and as required under the Official Languages Act 2003. This Scheme complements the Department’s commitment to quality customer service and to ensuring that customers who wish to conduct their business through Irish can do so.

This Scheme which, supersedes the Department’s previous Scheme, will remain in force for a period of three years from today or until a new scheme has been approved.
