Appointment to the District Court
At its meeting on Tuesday, 10 May, 2011 the Government decided to nominate Ms. Rosemary Horgan for appointment by the President as a judge of the District Court.
The vacancy arises from the retirement in January last of Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick.
The Government will take the necessary steps to formally advise President McAleese of the nomination in accordance with Constitutional procedures.
