Ministers Ross and Griffin congratulate Irish team on success at UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Emmen, Netherlands

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Shane Ross, TD, and the Minister with responsibility for Sport, Mr. Brendan Griffin, TD, congratulate the Irish team on their wonderful success at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Emmen.

 

Minister Ross said: “On behalf of the Irish people I am delighted to congratulate the Irish team on their wonderful success at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Emmen this weekend. In particular, I would like to congratulate Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal on claiming both a silver and gold medal in the road and time trial events and to all of the team for performing so well this week. I wish you all continued success in the future, and especially in your preparations for Tokyo next year.”

 

Minister Griffin said: “I would like to congratulate each of the Irish team on their fantastic performances this weekend and in particular Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal on their medal wins in both the Road Race and Time Trial events for the third year in a row. By your achievements at these Championships, you provide encouragement and inspiration to countless young athletes throughout Ireland who aspire to represent their country at the highest levels.”
