Minister Quinn announces his intention to appoint Pat Delaney as Chairperson of SOLAS
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn TD, has announced his intention to appoint Mr Pat Delaney as the Chairperson of SOLAS, the new State training agency.
Mr Delaney has previously worked for IBEC and is a former director of the Small Firms Association. His appointment to SOLAS is subject to approval by the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Education and Social Protection.
It is expected that SOLAS will be established within the coming weeks. Following this, the new statutory agency will be responsible for the integration, coordination and funding of further education and training.
