Statement from the Department of Education & Skills
The Department confirms that it has received an invitation from Anna Perry, Chair of the Teachers Conciliation Council (TCC) and Director of Conciliation Services, Workplace Relations Commission, to meet with her tomorrow to discuss matters of mutual concern relating to the ASTI’s industrial action that fall within the remit of the TCC. The Department has accepted this invitation.
Minister Bruton said that he welcomes this initiative and the decision of the ASTI to suspend their one day strikes and their withdrawal from Supervision and Substitution duties.
