Taoiseach Enda Kenny travels to Athens today

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is today travelling to Athens for an official programme.

During his short visit, he will meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

Discussions will include the ongoing efforts to secure economic recovery in Europe, as well as Ireland's priorities for the remaining weeks of its Presidency of the Council of the EU. Greece is itself to assume the Presidency from January-June 2014, as part of a trio of Presidencies with Ireland and Lithuania.

The Taoiseach will also meet with representatives of the Greek business and SME community at the Embassy of Ireland.
