Minister Coveney condemns latest North Korean missile test

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Simon Coveney TD, has condemned North Korea’s latest missile test on 15 September 2017. He said:
"The situation on the Korean Peninsula is a matter of grave concern and formed a part of the discussions I had last week with my EU counterparts. Next week’s United Nations General Assembly will present an opportunity for the international community to further demonstrate its resolve in this regard.

North Korea is mistaken if it believes that its actions enhance its security. Only abandoning its programme of nuclear weapons development and engaging in meaningful dialogue with other stakeholders will make possible a lasting and stable peaceful settlement in the region."
