Minister Kehoe welcomes RACO decision to vote in favour of the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020

Mr Paul Kehoe T.D. Minister with responsibility for Defence has welcomed the decision by the members of RACO (the Representative Association of Commissioned Officers) to vote in favour of the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020.

The Minister said “I very much welcome the news that RACO have voted to accept the agreement by a very significant majority of 91.3% to 8.7%. The agreement will bring undoubted benefits to their members, in particular the restoration of payscales.  These improvements in pay recognise the significant contribution made by all public servants, including Permanent Defence Force personnel, to the recovery of the States's finances.  This result will also allow RACO to engage further with the Public Service Pay Commission who have  prioritised the Defence Sector for a more extensive examination on the issue of recruitment and retention in the Defence Forces".
