Meeting of group to review decision by An Bord Pleanála on National Paediatric Hospital

The Review Group established to consider the decision of An Bord Pleanála to refuse planning permission for the National Paediatric Hospital advised the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly TD, that it held its first meeting today, Thursday 29th March, and will, in accordance with its terms of reference, report to the Minister within 56 days.

Earlier this week the Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the delivery of a world class hospital for the children of Ireland providing the highest quality treatment they deserve.

The Minister looks forward to receiving the Review Group’s report on the appropriate next steps to take with a view to ensuring that a National Paediatric Hospital can be constructed with minimal delay. It is his intention to await the completion of the work of the Review Group and neither he, nor the Group, wish to make any further comment on the matter until such time as the report has been completed.
