Performance Diagnostic Analysis to be undertaken in University College Hospital, Galway
Dr James Reilly TD, Minister for Health has previously advised that the Special Delivery Unit (SDU) based in his Department is planning to conduct an analysis of the unscheduled care system in the acute hospital sector over the coming months. The Minister has today (24th November, 2011) confirmed that he has asked the SDU to undertake a performance diagnostic analysis of University College Hospital, Galway in the near future.
A performance diagnostic analysis looks at the strengths and weaknesses of a hospital identifying areas of good performance and looking at the root causes of underperformance, if identified. The SDU will then make specific recommendations on how performance can be improved.
