Trade and Development Minister Joe Costello today attended an event to announce the details of Africa Day 2012, which falls on Friday May 25th. Also in attendance were Lord Mayor of Dublin Andrew Montague and Kenyan Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms Catherine Muigai Mwangi.

Africa Day is the official day of the African Union and marks African Unity. In Ireland, events to mark the day celebrate African diversity and the cultural and economic potential of the continent, in addition to raising awareness of the development challenges whcih remain and the progress which is being achieved.
