Deenihan addresses Famine conference
Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan today addressed a public conference in the National Library of Ireland, Dublin. The conference was on the subject "From the Famine to Post Modern Hunger in the 21
st Century".
The Minister is shown viewing pictures published in The Illustrated London News from the 1840s which provide a contemporary record of the Famine Crisis in Ireland. The pictures are part of the National Library of Ireland's Ephemera & Newspapers Collections at the Famine Seminar in the National Library of Ireland.
