EU Alternative Dispute Resolution for consumers on its way: Minister Bruton addresses Dublin stakeholder seminar

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton today addressed a European Consumer Centre (ECC) seminar of Irish stakeholders, meeting to discuss the Alternative Dispute Resolution proposals.

Speaking at the Seminar the Minister said:

Alternative Dispute Resolution has a very important role in keeping disputes out of court and in this way bringing costs down across the economy. It also has a crucial role in empowering consumers, who will be more likely to pursue disputes by ADR than if they have to go to court. Developments currently taking place both at European and national level will mean a greater role for this very important method of solving disputes in the future, and I along with my Government colleagues will be working hard to progress this.
