Foundation of The Irish Volunteers - Commemorating 100 Years
On the 25th November 1913, the Irish Volunteers held their inaugural meeting in the Rotunda Rink in Dublin.
This historic meeting was commemorated by a State Ceremonial Celebration yesterday in the Garden of Remembrance attended by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, President Michael D. Higgins, Defence Minister Alan Shatter and Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan.
