Gallery: Look back at the Taoiseach's St Patrick's day visit to the United States

Taoiseach Enda Kenny made a trip to the United States this week to mark St Patrick's Day. The Taoiseach visited Chicago, Indiana, New York and Washington D.C. on his trip. Take a look back at the visit in our gallery.

In Chicago, the Taoiseach met with the Mayor Rahm Emanuel and attended the St Patrick's Day parade.

The Taoiseach then travelled to Southbend, Indiana to visit Notre Dame University, home of the "Fighting Irish" football team.

The Taoiseach visited New York, where he rang the opening bell at the New York stock exchange on "Ireland Day".

Finally, the Taoiseach was in Washington D.C. for a bilateral meeting with President Obama and the Whitehouse reception to mark St Patrick's day, where the Taoiseach presented President Obama with the traditional bowl of shamrock.
