Minister Phil Hogan launches Anti Litter League
Environment Minister Phil Hogan is pictured launching the 2011 programme of Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL)'s Anti Litter League today in Merrion Square.
The programme will rank 53 towns and cities according to their litter levels, and will see a greater emphasis placed on neglected city areas, where litter is typically most prevalent.
IBAL invites people to submit photos by mobile phone of litter blackspots in their neighbourhood as part of a “litter twitter” campaign to alert local authorities to litter-ridden areas locally. Photos can be emailed to
