Minister Varadkar at launch of Bus Éireann X Route

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar is pictured above launching new Bus Éireann X Routes, which reduce journey times to cities such as Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Derry and Belfast.

The X range of inter-city Expressway services operate non-stop or limited stop on motorways meaning customers can travel from Galway to Limerick (X51) in just 80 minutes, or Dublin-Derry (X33) in 3 hours, or Dublin Airport to Belfast (X2) in only 1hr 45 minutes.

Bus Éireann's X Expressway services are:

X20 Dublin-Dublin Airport-Galway Limited stop service with a journey time between Galway and Dublin Airport of 2hrs 50 minutes. Free Wi-fi also available.

X51 Galway-Limerick  Direct service with a journey time of just 80 minutes.

X33 Dublin-Derry Direct service with a journey time of 3 hours and includes free Wi-fi and toilet facilities.

X2 Dublin Airport  Belfast Non-stop service with a journey time of just 1hr 45 minutes. Due to demand, this service will operate until 29th September 2011.

Bus Éireann plans to introduce further X Expressway services over the coming months along other main motorway corridors.
