Taoiseach Enda Kenny today launched the Happy Heart appeal in aid of Irish Heart Foundation.

More than 3,000 volunteers will take to the streets nationwide selling happy hearts for €2 this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (10-12 May) to help raise half a million Euro to provide information and support to thousands of heart and stroke patients. More than 130,000 people in Ireland have had a heart attack or angina and a further 59,000 people have had a stroke. Every day 13 people die from heart attack and stroke in Ireland.
