Government launches Be Winter Ready campaign 2016
The MInisters attended a meeting of the Emergency Planning Task Force before the launch of the campaign
Housing Minister Simon Coveney, Transport Minister Shane Ross, OPW Minister Sean Canney and Minister of State for Defence Paul Kehoe today launched the Government's Be Winter Ready 2016 campaign.
The information campaign encourages the public to be prepared, stay safe, know where to find help and to help others where they can if faced with severe weather conditions this winter.
Teresa Mannion spoke to us about the campaign:
Minister Ross expressed concern at the rising number of deaths on the roads, highlighting the importance of ensuring this figure doesn't continue to rise due to adverse weather conditions.

Minister Coveney said:
"We need to make sure everyone is prepared for the winter months, for what we expect but also for what we don't expect."
