An Taoiseach to meet Korean PM today

The Taoiseach will meet with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Lee Nak-yon on Monday 28 May in Government Buildings.

This is the first time since 1990 that a Prime Minister of Korea has visited Ireland. During Prime Minister Lee's visiting to Ireland he will also meet with President Michael D. Higgins.

The Taoiseach and Prime Minister Lee are expected to discuss the positive bilateral relations between Ireland and Korea, and the strong growth in trade and investment between the two countries. The Taoiseach hopes to discuss the good progress that is being made in discussions between Korea and Ireland on re-opening the Korean market for Irish beef exports. They are also expected to discuss matters including Brexit and the evolving situation on the Korean Peninsula.
