Appointment to the Court of Appeal
At its meeting yesterday, the Government agreed to nominate Ms. Justice Teresa Pilkington for appointment as an Ordinary Judge to the Court of Appeal by the President of Ireland.
The vacancy arose in the Court of Appeal following the retirement of the Hon. Mr. Justice Brian McGovern on 15 March 2020.
The Government has taken the necessary steps to formally advise President Higgins of the nomination in accordance with constitutional practice.
