Culture is catching all across Ireland!

The Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan is delighted to announce that Culture Night 2018 will take place this evening with over 3,000 events at 43 locations in over 1,400 venues across the island of Ireland, with something to suit every age and interest from live music and street performances to interactive tours and workshops.   Access to all Culture Night events is free of charge.

One flagship event, being run in partnership with Dublin City Council, RTÉ, the National Museum of Ireland and the Office of Public Works, is an open-air concert at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks commencing at 8pm. The free two-hour concert will feature an exciting mix of live music, theatre, comedy and poetry from both established and emerging artists. The concert will be presented by Sean Rocks and broadcast live on RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena from 8pm - 10pm and streamed live on rte.ie/culture.

Speaking this morning Minister Madigan said:

I wish to congratulate and thank all those involved from production to performance and back room to front stage in what will be an exhilarating and exciting celebration of our rich and diverse culture.  I want to encourage everyone to click onto culturenight.ie, choose from one of many local events, catch some culture and, above all, enjoy themselves.
