Deenihan welcomes details of funding package of €454,165 for Piers and Harbours in County Kerry

Thursday, 20th March 2014 - Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has welcomed the details announced by his colleague, Mr Simon Coveney TD, The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, of the allocation of €454,165 made available to Kerry County Council for repair of public owned piers, harbours and slipways damaged during the winter storms and for investment in the ongoing development of Ireland’s public harbour network.

Minister Deenihan commented: “I am pleased with the allocation by Minister Coveney’s Department to assist with the costs of damage caused by the harsh winter storms in County Kerry. I am also delighted by the announcement that funding is being made under his Department’s 2014 Capital Programme for restoration and repair work, ensuring that important infrastructure is fit for purpose. I look forward to the work commencing shortly.
