Dinny Mc Ginley T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will launch ‘Writing Across Borders’ poetry collection

Wednesday, 9th October 2013 Dinny Mc Ginley T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will this evening launch the ‘Writing Across Borders’ poetry collection produced by the Monaghan Song & Poetry Writers’ Group.

The result of a collaboration between three writers groups based in Monaghan, Barnavon and Lough Neagh, ‘Writing Across Borders’ addresses the day-to-day lives of people both during and after the Troubles originating as part of the ‘Hands Together II’ project, one of a number of projects undertaken by the County Monaghan Peace III Partnership.

Speaking ahead of the event Minister McGinley said “I would like to congratulate all of the members of the Monaghan Song & Poetry Writers’ Group and their friends and co-writers in the Barnavon and Lough Neagh writers groups on the enthusiasm and creativity that lead to the production of this book. I am particularly pleased to acknowledge and celebrate the role that the Arts plays in promoting peace and reconciliation.”
