€106,818 approved by Minister of State McGinley for Comhar Chuigéil, Leitir Mealláin, to build a new sewerage system

14th August 2013—Dinny McGinley, Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, announced today that he has approved a grant of €106,818 for Comhar Chuigéil in Leitir Mealláin, Co. Galway, to build a new sewerage system on their property in Leitir Mealláin.

Announcing the grant, Minister of State McGinley said that the facilities in Leitir Mealláin are extremely important for the local community. He said that he was delighted to provide this grant to the co-op because of the difficulties they have had with the sewerage system.

“The community themselves, pre-school education, the Irish colleges, and community development all depend on these facilities and I hope that when this work is completed they will have first-rate facilities,” said the Minister of State.

“This is a strong Gaeltacht area,” said the Minister of State, “and this funding shows that the Department is continuing with the support necessary to implement the 20 Year Strategy for Irish.”
