€15,000 grant approved by Minister of State McGinley for Raidió Rí-Rá

Dinny McGinley T.D., the Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has announced that he has approved an exceptional grant for Raidió Rí-Rá to enable them to continue until the end of the year.

Raidió Rí-Rá has been operating since 2008. It is directed at the youth market with the emphasis on mainstream music rather than alternative music. The station broadcasts on the internet for 14 hours a day. It is available on iPhone and Android apps and it also has slots on FM radio. It obtained a DAB licence in 2012.

Announcing this grant, Minister of State McGinley said that he was very happy to make the grant available. “The work that Raidió Rí-Rá is doing is very valuable. It is aimed at young people and its audience is increasing,” Minister McGinley said.
