€3,027,053 allocated to Donegal County Council towards road maintenance

Following the recent announcement by Government of an additional €50m for regional and local roads expenditure in 2013 some

€3,027,053

has been allocated to Donegal County Council towards road maintenance in the county.

This additional allocation is to be directed primarily to surface restoration works. The allocation to each local authority reflects the record of the authority in respect of funding repairs from their own resources.

This additional funding has to be spent by the Local Authorities in 2013.

Welcoming this funding Minister of State McGinley said "Road maintenance must remain a priority, contributing as it does to safety for all road users. And at a time when resources are limited I am particularly pleased to see Donegal Local Authority receive this welcome boost of additional funding."
