Eighth meeting held of Advisory Group on Planning for State Examinations 2021

The Department of Education has (Monday, 30 August 2021) hosted online the eighth meeting of the advisory group of stakeholders on planning for the State Examinations 2021.

 

The group includes representatives of students, parents, teachers, school leadership and management bodies, the State Examinations Commission (SEC), the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and the Department of Education, including the National Educational Psychological Service.

 

At today’s meeting, the group received an update on the 2021 Leaving Certificate, in particular on the arrangements for the release of results to candidates on Friday 3 September, the viewing of examinations scripts and both the examinations and Accredited Grades appeals processes. The group was also advised of arrangements for the Junior Cycle examinations which are to be held in the autumn for early school leavers and adult learners.

 

The group also received an update on the Assessment Arrangements for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate Examinations 2022, guidance on which was recently published. Stakeholders were asked to ensure wide circulation of the guidance document to their members.
