Launch of Kerry Fashion Week 2014 "Kerry is a natural home to fashion" - Deenihan

Jimmy Deenihan TD Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht this evening launched Kerry Fashion Week in the Roast Coffee House, Tralee.

Since the inaugural ‘Kerry Fashion Weekend’ in 2009, the event has developed year on year from a Kerry based celebration of the best of fashion designer talent into one of Ireland’s premier fashion industry events. ‘Kerry Fashion Week’ celebrates and gives a platform to emerging Kerry, national and international designers and creatives. This evening’s launch incorporated the opening of the Fashion Photography Exhibition, showcasing the work of some of Ireland’s top fashion photographers.

Commenting before the event this evening, Minister Deenihan said:

“Kerry Fashion Week is a platform for showcasing all emerging fashion designer talents, not just from Kerry but from across the country, to the world. It’s particularly pleasing that Kerryman Don O’Neill has chosen to exclusively launch in Ireland his THEIA Spring 2014 couture collection at this year’s event.”

Kerry Fashion Week will run until the 8th March in various venues in Kerry. More information can be found at http://kerryfashionweek.com
