Minister Cannon presents awards to graduates of Madonna House Education Centre, Ballinasloe

The Minister for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon TD, yesterday evening presented FETAC certificates to over 100 graduates of Madonna House Education Centre, Ballinasloe, Co Galway.

The Minister presented FETAC Level 3, Level 5 and Level 6 Awards in Community Care, Youthwork, Supervision in Childcare and Healthcare Skills, to graduates at a ceremony in the Gullanes Hotel, Ballinasloe.

He also presented a Leaving Certificate Applied full certificate to one student and Leaving Certificate Applied Year 1 certificates to five students at the ceremony.

Presenting the awards, Minister Cannon said: “I warmly congratulate each and every learner receiving an award here this evening. Well done! This is a wonderful achievement. I know that this is a very proud day for you, for your families and for your friends.”

“While receiving your certificate today is an important achievement in your lives, it is vital that you don’t stop here. Learning is for life and you should continue to build your skills in order to prepare yourselves for the future.”

Minister Cannon also commended the staff of Madonna House Education Centre.

“I sincerely thank the team of the Centre for their continued support in assisting the learners to fulfil their potential. I would particularly like to acknowledge all the good work in delivering the Senior Traveller Training Programme in this centre which was established in 1984. I thank you most sincerely for your dedication to the programme and to the learners over the years.”
