Minister Deenihan advertises for Board members for National Concert Hall, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Arts Council, Heritage Council and Irish Architectural Archive

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan T.D., has today (15th April 2011) published an advertisement on the Department’s website seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment as Chairperson of the National Concert Hall and new Board members for the National Concert Hall, Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the Arts Council, the Heritage Council and the Irish Architectural Archive.

.  All appointments will be made in accordance with the legislation governing appointments to each body.

Minister Deenihan stated said "this is an exciting opportunity for suitable and experienced people to help shape the future of these wonderful cultural and heritage institutions.  We are seeking to widen the pool of suitable candidates for consideration for appointment to these bodies."

In submitting expressions of interest, a person should state the Board('s) that they wish to be considered for appointment, their area of expertise, relevant experience and qualifications, and also set out clearly any actual or potential conflicts of interest were they to be appointed to a Board.

includes a description of the role and responsibilities of Directors.  The Minister may appoint persons from outside the expressions of interest received in response to this advertisement.
