Jimmy Deenihan T.D. Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will (to-day, Thursday 18 October, 2012 ) officially open the Bram Stoker Exhibition at The Little Museum of Dublin, 15 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2.

The Exhibition focusing on the life of Bram Stoker will run for six weeks (18 October - 30 November 2012) in the heart of the capital city and will be the focus of domestic and international attention. It will document the life and work of a writer that is now being recognised as one of the most influential Irishmen of all time.

Speaking in advance Minister Deenihan said: "This wonderful exhibition includes many rarities relating to the life of Bram Stoker, including:

- the earliest inscribed copy of Dracula, dedicated to Bram’s friend Hall Caine

- Bram’s first published short story -The Crystal Cup.

- A dedication copy of 'The Mystery of the Sea', inscribed by Bram

- Stoker family artefacts that have never been seen in public

- And the first Irish translation of Dracula from 1933.

The Little Museum's collection boasts over 400 artefacts, reflecting the generosity of ordinary Dubliners. The social, cultural and political history of Dublin is chronicled here at Little Museum. There are simple artefacts that encourage contemplation of the past, alongside items related to famous visitors such as that of President John F Kennedy, Marlene Dietrich and Muhammad Ali.
