Minister Fitzgerald Wishes Students The Best of Luck in Their Exams

Frances Fitzgerald T.D., Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has sent her best wishes to students sitting their Leaving Cert, Junior Cert and LCA exams this week. Minister Fitzgerald also paid tribute to schools, teachers and families on all the effort that goes into preparing students for the exams.

“I would like to extend my best wishes to the 116,774 students who begin their State Examinations today. As Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, I am keenly aware of the stresses that students face coming up to exams and the preparation undergone by not just the students themselves but their teachers, parents and families. I still remember the nerve-wrecking feeling of beginning my own exams and the anxiety I felt as a parent when my children started theirs,” stated Minister Fitzgerald.

“State examinations are very stressful for many students but these next couple of weeks will be an opportunity for students to reap the rewards of all of their hard work over the past number of years. During stressful times, like this, it’s hard for young people to remember to keep things in perspective and trust that there is a course or job out there for everyone. I hope that this years students bear that in mind as they begin their exams and I wish every last one of them the very best of luck,” concluded Minister Fitzgerald.
