Tom Hayes TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine presented the certificate of registration to the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard to the Inheritance Enquiry Unit of the Department’s Single Payments Division. The Unit was recently awarded certification to the standard having successfully undergone an independent audit conducted out by the National Standard’s Authority of Ireland (NSAI).

The Minister congratulated all those who played a part for their hard work and dedication in bringing about this success. He is also noted that the event marked the 10th occasion that the ISO 9001 standard had been awarded to the Department.

Speaking of the challenge presented in implementing the ISO system in an area with such a broad ranging remit as the Inheritance Enquiry Unit, the Minister added that their success underlined “…the Department’s continued determination, and the commitment of our staff, to providing the highest quality in the delivery of services”.

The Minister also said that he looked forward to seeing many other areas of the Department taking up this challenge and “…maintaining the rate of certification success achieved by the Department over recent years”, which places the Department to the forefront in terms of certification to ISO 9001 in a public service cont
