Minister Hogan invites expressions of interest for appointments to the Board of Pobal

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Mr. Phil Hogan TD, published an advertisement on his Department’s website seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointments to the Board of Pobal in a non-executive capacity. The advertisement can be seen on the website of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government www.environ.ie

The purpose of this process is to fill vacancies on the Board of Pobal that will arise at their Annual General Meeting, scheduled for October 2012. All appointments will be made in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of Pobal.

In submitting an expression of interest, a person should state their area of expertise; relevant experience and qualifications, skills and competencies, and also set out clearly any actual or potential conflicts of interest were they to be appointed to the Board.

The Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies includes a description of the roles and responsibilities of Directors. In considering applications due regard will be given to Government policy on gender balance on State Boards.
