Minister McGinley welcomes announcement that an ‘Irish Water’ (Uisce Eireann) regional centre will be located in Donegal Town

Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley T.D., has today welcomed the announcement   that a Irish Water regional centre to support the provision of water and wastewater services with regional work associated with operations, asset management and certain capital projects will be located in Donegal town.  There will be eight such centres throughout the country and Minister McGinley welcomed the decision that one of these important centres will be located in Donegal.  It is estimated that up to a maximum of 32 jobs will be created in the Centre drawn from the local authority, the Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government, Bord Gáis and open recruitment.  In relation to the announcement, Minister McGinley said that “not alone is it important to have such a centre located in Donegal ensuring Irish Water are working closely with the Donegal local authorities and it’s residents, but the creation of the extra jobs will contribute greatly to the local economy”
