Minister Ring congratulates Annalise Murphy following gold medal at the Italian Olympic Week 2013
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring TD today congratulated Annalise Murphy, who won gold yesterday (Sunday 12 May 2013) at the Italian Olympic Week 2013 on Lake Garda.
Speaking today, Minister Ring said: “Annalise was tipped from the start as favourite and demonstrated nerves of steel in mixed weather conditions to persevere and clinch the gold in the first regatta in the Eurosaf series. I would like to warmly congratulate Annalise on a well-deserved win and wish her every success in her many other events this season. The Laser European Championships take place in Dun Laoghaire this September and I am sure that her win yesterday will really help with her preparations for that event.”
