Minister Byrne speaks at Young Professionals Network event on EU Jobs

Minister of State for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne T.D. today, Tuesday 15 December, addressed an online webinar as part of the Young Professionals Network series of events hosted by the Embassy of Ireland in Paris.

The Minister said:

“At today’s event I highlighted the fantastic opportunities that are open to Irish people with language skills who are interested in an EU career. It is imperative that Irish citizens continue to serve the EU institutions, and the Irish Government is committed to supporting applicants at every level. By doing so, Irish people will remain at the heart of Europe and maintain influence over the course that it will take in the years to come.”

Notes for Editors:

  • The Young Professionals’ Network was launched in early 2020, to deliver on the aims of the Ireland-France strategy 2020-2025. Its aim is to connect people who speak French in Ireland, young Irish graduates in France, and Franco-Irish members of the Irish diaspora in France to create a more coherent professional network between them.
  • A number of events with young professionals working in the legal, fashion, media, and international relations sectors were held in 2020. These events continue to grow in popularity and have attracted over 250 participants per event.
  • The Embassy of Ireland in Paris is looking to highlight the opportunities that are available for graduates in France post-Brexit. In addition to the Young Professional Network, the Embassy also has an active LinkedIn page where job opportunities are shared: https://www.linkedin.com/company/64543939/admin/
