Minister Coveney to participate in open debate at UN Security Council on situation in the Middle East
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney TD, will participate via VC today in an open debate at the United Nations Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question. Today’s meeting is being held in response to the continuing intensification of violence in Gaza, the West Bank and in Israel. This is the third meeting of the Security Council on this issue this week – the Council held meetings in closed session on 10 and 12 May to discuss this situation.
Today’s open meeting of the Security Council will begin at 15.00 hrs IST (10.00 EDT).
