Minister of State Jim Daly today launched the National Office of Suicide Prevention Annual Report 2016 and National Suicide Research Foundation Self-harm Registry Annual Report 2016.
The Minister admitted that “suicide and self-harm are complex problems, and that addressing these behaviours means supporting people in many different ways”. He welcomed the decline in suicides in recent years, and noted prevention of suicide is a challenge which all of us in society must take on board.
The Minister acknowledged the “excellent work being undertaken by the National Office for Suicide Prevention, in leading and co-ordinating suicide prevention initiatives across the country”.
