Minister Damien English and Minister Robert Troy convene meeting with Social Partners
4 November 2020 Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Damien English T.D. and Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Company Regulation and Digital, Robert Troy T.D., will today jointly chair a forum with the Social Partners to discuss redundancy & insolvency issues.
The purpose of the meeting is to give representative groups an opportunity for constructive engagement on these important issues as part of ongoing engagement by Government on these matters.
The forum will feed into the process already underway to review the current legal provisions surrounding collective redundancies and the liquidation of companies to ensure the rights of workers are effectively protected.
This is a key commitment in the Programme for Government, and under the direction of the Tánaiste, the Company Law Review Group is undertaking an expedited review of this commitment as it relates to company law which is set to be completed before the end of the year.
