Minister Flanagan hosts Annual Roundtable meeting with Agencies in Farmleigh

The Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan T.D. today hosted a roundtable event bringing together delegates from across the Department and from the Agencies/Bodies in the justice and equality sector. Participants include senior management from the Department and Chief Executive Officers and senior staff from the Agencies. In addition, some Chairs of Board were present.

Minister Flanagan welcomed this event as a valuable opportunity to share experiences.This annual Roundtable is one of the forums developed to encourage interactions, build relationships and inter-agency co-operation and enhance sharing of experience and learning within the justice and equality sector and is the third time it has been held.

The Minister said:

“The theme for today’s event was ‘Effective Implementation’. I believe that a key feature of effective implementation is building strong relationships across the sector and I am very supportive of developing collaborative and inter-agency approaches to the complex issues that we face . Over the coming period, I know that we will work together in close partnership in addressing the challenges that will arise in order to advance our common objectives and to ensure effective implementation".

The Minister continued "It is a privilege to be working with you all on issues that make a real difference to the daily lives of people, whether promoting and supporting equality for all, ensuring a safe and secure Ireland or enabling access to justice."
