Minister Flanagan thanks outgoing Alliance leader David Ford MLA

“On his final day as leader of the Alliance Party, I want to pay tribute to David Ford. I have had the privilege of working closely with David Ford on a wide range of issues relating to Northern Ireland, including during the successful negotiations of the Stormont House and Fresh Start agreements. I witnessed David display the great courage, patience and vision that characterised his 15 years as leader of the Alliance Party. As Justice Minister, he ensured that the devolution of policing and justice powers to the Executive was a success, a significant step towards achieving the full promise of peace on this island.”
