Minister for Education welcomes new second-level school for Dublin's northside

New school in Whitehall a partnership between CDETB and Educate Together

Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan, TD, today welcomed the establishment of a new second-level school in Whitehall on the northside of Dublin. The new school is a result of a partnership between Educate Together and City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB).

“This is very positive news for educational provision on the northside of Dublin. The CDETB will be the patron of the school, with Educate Together the Trustee Partner and the new school will be known as Clonturk College. There are very vibrant multi-denomination primary schools in this area of Dublin and this new second-level school will provide families and students with additional school choice on leaving primary school. I would like to acknowledge the very constructive role that both the CDETB and Educate Together played in this process,” said Minister O’Sullivan.

Clonturk College will be co-located in the building currently occupied by Plunket College, Swords Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9. The new College will open next September with an expected First Year intake of 75 students. Plunket College will continue to offer Repeat Leaving Certificate and Post-Leaving Certificate Programmes for both male and female students.
