Minister for Health welcomes publication of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Bill
The Minister for Health Simon Harris today welcomes the publication of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Bill.
The Bill is in line with the General Scheme of a Bill to Regulate Termination of Pregnancy which was approved by Government on the 27 March 2018 and published on the Department of Health's website in advance of the referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment. An updated General Scheme was approved by Government on 10 July 2018 and this was also published on the Department's website.
The Minister looks forward to meeting with key stakeholders over the coming days to discuss the Bill and the operation of the service for termination of pregnancy.
